Canon Invests $700 Million in Virginia


Virginia is Marketing, Engineering and Technology Center for Canon Americas


In 1985, Canon Virginia established its first location in the Commonwealth and began operations with a single copier manufacturing line in Newport News. Over the last 28 years, Canon has prospered in Virginia’s top-rate business climate and continues to grow its operations. The company has invested more than $700 million to add metal stamping, injection molding, metal fabrication, repair services, recycling, research and development, distribution, warehousing and technical support to its capabilities. Today, Canon Virginia maintains five facilities, two million square feet of floor space and 2,000 dedicated employees.

Canon Inc. has brought its world-class manufacturing to the American market. Canon Virginia’s Newport News campus serves as the Marketing, Engineering and Technology Center for Canon Americas, as well as the headquarters for this global company.
